Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence

This year marks a special milestone for Kotman Technology as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

What began as one young entrepreneur's vision has grown into a thriving technology partnership serving companies across the Central Valley and beyond. From our humble beginnings to becoming a trusted IT partner for hundreds of businesses, our journey has been defined by relationships, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to helping people succeed.

COMPANY FOUNDING & HISTORY

→ The Beginning

2001-2005

Jon Kotman's journey in technology began in 2001 as a high school student with an entrepreneurial spirit.

His mother would drive him around to clients' homes in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to fix their computer problems. By the time he graduated from high school, Jon had built a foundation of over 175 residential and small business clients. When Jon moved back to Fresno, it was like coming home. He had lived here once before, and the same childhood friends were still in the area, creating a sense of continuity and community.

While establishing roots in the Central Valley, Jon attended Fresno State and began to lay the foundation for what would become Kotman Technology.

In 2005, Kotman Technology officially became a company, marking the beginning of our formal business journey.

What started as a house-based operation began to take shape as a professional IT services company. As the business grew, Kotman Technology moved from a house to subletting space from an attorney, and eventually landed in our current home on Temperance Ave in Clovis.

Under Jon's leadership, Kotman Technology has experienced significant expansion, building a team of talented professionals who serve a diverse range of industries.

The company has become a trusted partner in the Central Valley, helping clients who contribute to the region's thriving agricultural, manufacturing, legal, accounting, and nonprofit sectors.

Vice President, Luke Ross has been instrumental in this transformation, overseeing the company's growth from a small team of 2-3 individuals into a thriving company of dozens of dedicated professionals. Together, Jon and Luke have built a reputation based on excellence and built their team around shared values and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Our culture can be described in three words: community, family, and fun. We believe that when our team thrives, our clients thrive.

Innovation is woven into our DNA. In our office, you'll see several rocks inscribed with our logo on people's desks. Every 90 days, each member of our team selects 1-3 specific goals that guide their professional development. We call these goals our rocks. When these goals are met, the team member receives a literal rock marking their accomplishment. The rocks remind us of the continuous improvement we expect of ourselves.

We make sure our clients know that the entire Kotman Technology team is behind them. Our office is purposefully designed for collaboration.

On any given day, you can find our staff consulting with one another, planning solutions, and responding to challenges as one collective team.

✔ We Say Yes. A Lot.

From day one, our primary goal has always been to help people. That's hard to do when you have complicated agreements with lots of exclusions and exceptions. So we don't do that. Once you partner with us, your goals become our goals. We're in this together and we'll do whatever it takes. No matter what.

✔ Fun

We love what we do and we love where we work. Impromptu Nerf gun fights happen on the regular. May 4th is a bonafide holiday in our books. Kotman family zoo day is an annual tradition. And even on weekends, you'll find us bonding over backyard BBQs or go-kart racing. IT is technical and complicated, but we make sure it's never boring.

Jon participates in peer groups such as Lead4Purpose and ConnectWise Evolve to ensure we stay at the forefront of industry best practices.

We serve companies both big and small, supporting a range of businesses in various industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, financial, education, and more. Our service areas include Central California (Fresno, Clovis, Visalia, and beyond). As we've grown, we've maintained our core principle: there isn't anything we're not willing to tackle. Our service model is completely scalable to meet your needs and keep your operations running smoothly.
